Notes: The car was built in 1977 in Al Bergler's personal garage in Clinton Township. We went to school with his daughter, Renea. Al was a great mentor to us. Ed was the owner and the only driver. Ed tuned the car. Dave Holiday and I were the crew on the car. We went to high school at Chippewa Valley H.S., Mount Clemens, Michigan. At the time of racing, we lived all together in Fraser, Michigan. Ed had a Phillips 66 gas station working on cars when not racing. We raced the car at the Poconos, Atlanta, more match racing in Birmingham, Alabama, and of course, Great Lakes Dragway. There was one time when a car (not ours) had a race where the blower blew off the car, and parts landed in the stands, if I remember correctly. Thanks again for jogging my memories. - Robin Schneider, 6/16/26 |
