Notes: Bonin was driving this car at Martin, Michigan, on August 11 for the PHR Championships, where he failed to qualify after all cars ran the first round, with only the eight lowest ETs advancing to the second eight for the race. On September 29, he was in Irwindale for its Grand Prix race. It was a sixteen-car field, and his 6.79 qualified #6. Unfortunately, the Charger broke in the first round, allowing his opponent, Frank Rupert, a solo into round two. Gordie qualified the "Hawaiian" on the "bump" at Ontario with a 6.531/219.51. In the opening round, his 6.68/215.82 lost to Jim Nicoll's 6.52/226. |
