Notes: Cliff was at Byron Dragway in June for the Rockford Manufacturer's Meet. An opening round 6.67/215.22 fell to a 6.81/218 holeshot by Charlie Proite, and on his second run, a 6.78/210.77 lost to eventual winner Don Prudhomme's 6.44/222. He attempted to qualify for the NHRA Summernationals at Englishtown but failed to make the show. On Sept. 29, he was in Bristol for the IHRA All-American Championships. He was the first alternate for the sixteen-car field with a 7.11, but when Pee Wee Wallace damaged a motor during qualifying, Cliff took his place in the field. Unfortunately, he lost in the opening round. Stock Stroke Hemi. Cliff also ran 6.62 at Indianapolis (not the nationals). |
