Notes: At Darlington for the IHRA Winternationals, Ronnie ran 6.78/197 in qualifying. That would have easily put him in the show, but rain interrupted the race, and it was postponed by one week; he was able to race on the rain date. Sox raced at Maryland for the USSC Opener. He qualified third in the eight-car field with a 6.90/195.18, and a 6.91/190 won his first-round race, but he lost in the semifinals. He was at Bristol for the IHRA Springnationals, but his 7.05/202.74 best was good for the eleventh alternate. Sox raced at Maryland International on June 19 for a best-of-three match race against Charlie Carpenter and his '55 Chevy. Ronnie won two straight with times of 7.03/197 and 6.91/197 compared to Carpenter's best of 7.06/196. |
