Notes: Larry Christopherson owned the car. He received $1200 a match race when he added Dick Harrell's sponsorship, when others were getting $1000. In a match race against Kelly Chadwick in Oswego Il. He hurt the motor in winning first round. He didn't have the parts to fix it so tried to run it easy to get the win money, but he blew up the motor. The car was engulfed in flames. He burned his chutes off, the brakes up, and he was off the track and in the weeds. He finally jumped out the window while it was still rolling with the body on fire. He spent months in the burn ward where they told him he would never walk again! Fortunately, he proved them wrong and went on race for many years. - Dave Veals | The original paint was a beautiful red, white, and blue. The Fleer Drag Racing card for 1972 showed that and cited 6.80/210 times. Ran 6.663/204.64 at PRA Tulsa in August. |
