Notes: Chuck was at Gainesville for the NHRA Gatornationals, where he qualified #13 with an 8.030/168.85. An opening round 8.193/156.79 lost to Dave Hutchens' 7.98/172. At Atlanta for the NHRA Southern Nationals, he failed to qualify. His 8.092/171.75 best was the fifth alternate for the eight-car field. Chuck qualified #16 at NHRA Columbus at 8.034/169.17. He lost again to Hutchens in round one, 8.06/167 to 8.130/163.33. Sneed was the 14th member of the Holley Seven-Second club with his 7.99 at Norwalk in June. He failed to qualify for the NHRA Grandnationals, where his 8.050/167.91 was the first alternate. Chuck's best NHRA times were the 8.030 at the Gators and 171.75 at Atlanta (although John Lingenfelter ran 8.031 at Brainerd, 7.911 at Indy, and 7.887/174.41 at Orange County). Where did Chuck run 7.855/175.09? Lingenfelter showed that the car was capable. |
