Notes: Phil was at Martin, Michigan, for the PHR Championships, where he ran 9.16 to qualify #14. An opening round 9.45/152.54 beat alternate Paul Summers, but in round two, his 9.18/151.51 lost to Larry Lombardo's 8.76/154. The only NHRA national event in 1978 was a 9.130/149.25 DNQ at Indy. |
