Notes: UDRA and US 30 Pro Stocker. Photo from 1976, for which Frank wrote: I was the driver & engine builder. This is the day we beat Joltin' Joe Satmary in the final 8.89 to 8.92. This was 1976, and I won the UDRA championship with John's help! The following year, Big Jim Urso of Performance Auto Parts helped choose the parts for a new Mystery Motor BBC 492, which ran 8.60 -159 with a lot of traction problems due to the power increase! Like at the Grove, I could leave the line at 1500 RPM & still run 8.63! If you raced with or knew me, Frank Goetschel, I now live in Costa Rica, Central America. I'm on Facebook. - From Quarter Mile Classics Smugmug site |
