This is the day we beat Joltin' Joe Satmary in the final 8.89 to 8.92. This was 1976, and I won the UDRA championship with John's help! The following year, Big Jim Urso of Performance Auto Parts helped choose the parts for a new Mystery Motor BBC 492, which ran 8.60/159 with a lot of traction problems due to the power increase! Like at the Grove, I could leave the line at 1500 RPM & still run 8.63! If you raced with or new me, Frank Goetschel, I now live in Costa Rica Central America.
