Notes: Frank's first event this year was Indy, where he was the seventh alternate at 6.57/227.84. At the NHRA World Finals in Amarillo, Texas, Frank ran well. He started that race by qualifying #2 for the West at 6.67 and then ran 7.10/142.63 in round one when Joe Jacono did not show. In round two, Al Bergler broke against him, and Frank claimed a 6.72/207.85 victory. He improved to 6.42/225.56 in the semis to beat Shirl Greer's 6.64. He became the 1973 NHRA World Champion by running a 6.39/224.43 to beat Bobby Rowe's 6.38/228.42 on a holeshot. Frank qualified #7 at the Ontario SUpernationals at 6.441/223.32. He beat Billy Meyer in round one at 6.48/219.51 when Meyer lost fire. In round two, his otherwise excellent 6.37/224.43 lost to Dale Emery's killer 6.28/229.59. Where did Frank run 6.29/228.42?
