Notes: SLD stood for Scottish Land Development, and SLDO referred to the merger of Scottish Land Development with the Olding family’s company, forming SLD Olding, a major UK distributor and service provider for heavy plant and industrial equipment. Nobby Hills worked for SLD Olding as a highly skilled engineer and mechanic. - BP | Houndog 9. Engine: 8,000 cc supercharged. Bhp 2,000 at 8,500 rpm. Fuel 90% Nitro methane, 10% Alcohol. Best time 6.62 seconds for the standing quarter. Best speed 218.64 mph. Funny car designed and built by Nobby Hills. The car was called Chevy Pup. In 1978, the new Funny Car was ready. It had a Chevy Vega body wrapped around a 426 cu. in. Chrysler Engine. SLDO, the company Owen and Nobby worked for, sponsored the team, and the new car was painted in its red-and-white colors.
