Notes: Butch was low qualifier at the 1972 NHRA World Finals (32-car field-22 cars competing) with an ET of 6.61/214.79. He ran 6.64/203.61, 6.566/222.77, and 6.57/219.51 in beating Charlie Therwhanger, John Dekker, and Ed McCulloch. He lost in the fourth round, after an engine explosion, to Jake Johnston (Gene Snow Charger), who ran Low ET of the meet at 6.51/222.77.
