The Alcohol Funny Car program at Indy that year was the best all year and first in history with a 5-sec. bump (Gary Rettell's 5.99). Anderson, fresh off Seattle win, qualified second at 5.76/248 and defeated Bob Weickegenannt (photo) before setting Top Speed of Meet at 250.13 with a round two win over red-lighting Sam Blue. Got beat in semis when Todd Paton holeshotted him. |
