Notes: Jerry was at Columbus in June for the NHRA Springnationals. His 6.78/204.08 qualified second to Ken Veney's 6.67/207. In the opening round, he ran 6.76/203.15 to advance when Arnie Karp failed to show. In the second round, he beat Dave Sebring with a 6.75/204.59. An off-pace 6.91/202.24 fell to eventual winner Bob Gottschalk's 6.83/203. Note the comp number change from 224 to 229. Jerry Gulley eventually used 229. This car was sold to Jackie Stidham, who raced it in 1982. |
