Notes: Square-tube frame car. Dean Nicopolis was a engineer at Chevrolet. He and his crew chief, Lee Palarchio, teamed up on this Camaro. The body came from Fiberglass Ltd. They built their own frame for it using mild steel tubing while was welded to the rear section of a Chevelle frame for the kickups. Jay Howell built the roll bar. The finished car weighed 1,820 lbs. The Chevy engine was backed by a Torqueflite transmission. -- RH | The Camaro was a one-year effort for Nicopolis; Dennis Morton campaigned it as "The Hugger" for 1968. Dean Nicopolis went on to race a SS/BA Hemi Barracuda the next year (1968). -- RT
