Notes: George was at Englishtown in May for the 1st annual Night of Thrills race. All twelve cars ran two rounds of racing, with the two cars meeting in the final. George ran well, but he was not quick enough to make the final. In his first race, his 7.48/180 lost to eventual winner Jim Lynch's 7.34/192. In the second race, he ran 7.51/180.36 to beat Antone Adesso's 7.76/178 in the "Pig Pen" Vega. In mid-July, he was at Atco Dragway for an eight-car show. Unfortunately, his 7.52 lost to Glenn Lazzar's 7.29 in the opening round. The former Joe Amato car. Cannon was from Carteret and was on Joe Amato's top fuel crew. They ran the car out of Rich's R&C Auto Body shop in South Plainfield. |
