Notes: Stidham began the year at Pomona with a 6.896 202.24, putting him in the third spot. In the first round, he fell off to 7.13 and lost to Lee Zeinert's 7.04. Jackie Stidham was at the top of the field at Green Valley Race City WWCS 3/83 with a 6.71 201.34. Stidham crossed the centerline in the first round against eventual runner-up Tommy Van Gossen. Stidham raced the Amarillo WWCS from the fifth spot at 7.09/204.39. He lost the first round with a 7.11 200.83. Stidham was the second qualifier at the NHRA Baton Rouge 5/83 race with a 6.679/209.30. He won the first round with a 6.725/208.33 but broke. NHRA US Nationals 9/83 Stidham did not qualify with a 6.747/205.94. Jackie Stidham was the number one qualifier at the AAFCC race at the Houston Armadillo Nationals. In the finals, Dennis Piranio made it to the finals to face Jackie Stidham. Piranio holeshot Stidham for the win 6.91 202.24 ti 6.89 197.89. Dal Denton and Ronny Young were the semifinalists. Stidham ran 6.76 203.15 at Green Valley on June 26,83. All-American Funny Car Association. He finished 3rd in 1983. The car was the former Baby Huey of the Gwynns. |
