Notes: Sarge was at Capitol Raceway on August 1st for an eight-car show. In the first round, his 7.02/206.42 beat Al Goodman's 7.22/211. In the semifinal, he ran 7.03/208.32 to drop Eddie Fox's quicker, but later 6.93/214. He faced Lary Bucher in the final, and the car came to the line running on only six cylinders. Larry only needed to run 8.45 for the victory. He won the inaugural event Dixie Classic at Suffolk on 9/13/70, with a best ET and MPH of 6.73/222.76. - Paul Broughton. | Also ran 6.79 at Capitol. |
