Notes: Paul's first NHRA national event of the season was the GrandNationals in Sanair, Quebec. He qualified #3 with a 7.24 (speed unknown) but broke in round one against Larry Fullerton. Paul was the 13th alternate at Indy at 7.71/190.67. He qualified #20 at the Amarillo World Finals at 9.551/100.04. He improved to an 8.73/109.62 in round one but lost to Al Marshall's 7.72/165.74.
