Notes: Won Division 3 in 77, 78, and 80. Photo from the 1977 US Nationals. | Jeg was at Beech Bend for the final NHRA Division 3 race in August. His 6.03/238.09 qualified #2 in the eight-car field behind Shirley Muldowney's 5.92/243. Unfortunately, he fouled away a 6.24/236.84 in the semifinals against Larry Brown, who advanced with a 6.30/217. At Indianapolis for the NHRA US Nationals, he ran 6.05 to qualify #16 in the 32-car field. He was upset in the opening round by Clayton Harris, who improved from his qualifying 6.17 to a 6.12/227 to beat Coughlin's 6.20/227. |
