Notes: Larry competed at Riverside for the HRM Championships held early in April. His 7.47/208.80 advanced when Jeep Hampshire lost fire on the line in the opening round. He had a really close race against Dave Beebe in round two that saw both run 7.28 (Faust at 210.76), but Larry crossed the stripe first. In round three, he gained lots of fans when Don Prudhomme fouled against him. Larry's clutch died, and he got out and pushed the car across the finish line! Everyone was rooting for him when he lined up against underdog Glenn Brown in the semifinal. The car had problems, and Larry shut it down while Glenn advanced to the final with a 7.44. |
