Ran 6.60 at Lions. | Jim was at Rockingham in September for the IHRA US Open Championships. He qualified #7 with a 6.60 and an opening round 6.89/204.08 beat Bob Pennington. In the second round, his motor-blowing 6.56 lost to Don Garlits' 6.34. Best NHRA times were at the Winternationals, the only NHRA national event Jim ran in the top fuel car. Jim ran 6.742/218.44 there. The 6.40/236 came from an article in DRUSA July 1972.
