Notes: Walt "Satch" Nottle. Won Division 1 1973. - Danny White | There were better-known drivers in Div. #1, but Satch paid his dues by driving some "shaky" cars. When Satch got his golden opportunity to drive for Fred Forkner, he took full advantage of it by beating the "name" drivers and winning the 1973 Div #1 Top Fuel Championship. AKA Quarter Horse. Rear engine dragster, Forkner Chassis, 426 Hemi w/Lenco. Forkner and Nottle split up after the season. - Bill Warburton, 4/15 | Satch qualified Fred's car #16 at the NHRA World Finals in Amarillo at 6.81.
