Notes: Carl qualified on the "bump" for the sixteen-car field at Tucson, Arizona, for the AHRA Winternationals with a 9.15/206. In the opening round, his 7.33/216 beat Tom Prock's 7.35/169. He got to solo in round two when Jack Maroney broke. Unfortunately, he lost to Gene Snow in the semifinal. After failing to qualify at Pomona (sixth alternate but times unavailable [fifth alternate was a 6.465]), he was at Tulsa in May for the AHRA Springnationals. This was an eight-car show, and he failed to make the 7.12 "bump." |
