Notes: With Art Malone 81/84. | Don started the '81 season by winning the AHRA Winternationals with a 6.33/230 over Jerry Ruth. He then showed up at the IHRA Winternationals at Darlington and qualified #2 with a 5.92/243, but the car started wheelstanding against Richard Tharp in the first round, and Don's 6.03/250.69 (Top Speed) lost to Tharp's 5.95/237. |
