Notes: Times confirmed via LA Times newspaper report (11/14/55 edition). It also ran 151.26 in October 1955 (per Bret Kepner, the 151.26 on October 9 was the third official car over 150, tying Mickey Thompson's 151.26). The times were faster than the 1955 top fuel record (Mickey Thompson at 151.26).; Drag News (10/28/55, p. 5) confirms Duncan's name was Harry, not Bob. The LA Times and other newspapers mistakenly referred to him as "Bob". Harry owned the engine. The bright purple dragster first ran at Pomona on April 3, setting a new track record of 141.28 mph. On April 17, they towed to Rankin Field in Tulare but kept the speed at 126.58 mph due to the short shutdown. The following week at Pomona, they won the A/FD class and Top Eliminator with 138.98 mph. A week later, on May 1, they got an identical Top Speed and won Top Eliminator with 138.98 mph. They took several months off to work on the car to see if they could coax some more out of it. They were very successful in a big way. On October 9 at Lions, they reached 151.26 mph, a new track record. The following week, he took Top Eliminator at Santa Ana with another fast 149.68 mph. He closed out the season by towing to Perryville, Arizona, where the NHRA Nationals were finishing up their final eliminations that had been washed out at Great Bend two months earlier. It was also the Arizona State Championships. While not in the running for the Nationals eliminations, Losinski turned in the meet's fastest speed of 151.77 mph. This was the fastest speed ever recorded at a sanctioned NHRA event. Photo: San Bernardino County Sun, April 9, 1955 - MB
