Notes: Pete ran 7.04/145.39 in a first-round loss to Don Garlits at IHRA Bristol in late June. We've seen a photo of that match autographed by Big Daddy. Pete also ran at US 131 for the Pop Hot Rod meet, but we need times for that. Pete was the 16th alternate at Indy with a 6.30 (speed not reported). Tommy moved from Florida to Central Illinois in 1975. Pete also ran 6.41 this year. Photo from the 1975 PHR Championships, US 131 Dragway, Martin, Michigan. | Pete drove Hendricks's old Ivo car a bunch. Only dragster he ever told me about. He said it was heavy as a rock and drove like a caddy. He said it was a nice car but not fast. - Brad Horvath |
