Notes: Shiroma was at Fremont's Fuel Championships in August. It was a sixteen-car field, and Stan ran well. His 7.05/213.76 in the opening round of eliminations beat Dennis Baca, who had clutch problems and shut off. Bill Alexander fouled against him in round two, and a 7.14/220 advanced. But in the semifinal, his 7.22/216.34 lost to James Warren's 7.19/222. He ran 6.904/221.12 to qualify #10 at Indy's 32-car field for the NHRA US Nationals. Unfortunately, he fouled against Ron Manke in the opening round. |
