Notes: Turbonique Drag Axle-equipped cars burned a liquid fuel called Thermolene. The fuel contained its own oxygen; it was basically a compact rocket motor that used its thrust to spin the rear differential; it did not propel the car down the track as did "conventional" rocket-thrust-powered vehicles. The instant power at the push of a button - 1,000/1,200 horses claimed at the rear wheels - made these cars a handful to control.
