Notes: This 25-year-old Illinois driver -- address also given as LaGrange -- died at Union Grove, Wis. on June 2 during the 1968 Olympics of Drag Racing. He was killed when his engine exploded on the top end simultaneous with the chute release, causing his dragster to somersault in the lights. - RT |
