Notes: At Kingdon on Jan. 6, Frank Puccinelli won A/FR with 118.42 mph. They beat the B/FR entry of Eppender & Thorne of Pleasant Hills to take top eliminator honors with 123.29 mph. On Feb. 17 at Kingdon, they clocked 124.13 in winning the A/FR class. They lost in the first round of eliminations to Bob Rosen's A fuel coupe. They turned 128.57 mph in winning their class on July 7 at Kingdon. At Half Moon Bay on July 28, they won the A/FR class with a speed of 131.57 mph. On Aug. 4 at Kingdon, they ripped a stout 133.16 in taking the A/FR win. At Kingdon on Oct. 20, they took a win in A/FR with 129.12 mph. Photo: "Vintage shots from days gone by!
