Notes: Roy Gay entered the new car into competition for the first time at the OCIR Manufacturers' Meet held in November. In the first round, he beat Gas Ronda with a 7.96/184.04. He reached the final as the two Low ET cars would meet for a final run-off. This was pretty good, considering the caliber of competition. There were 45 cars there, and all the "name" drivers were there. This Pontiac-powered car getting into the final was huge. But a 8.10/175.09 in the final lost to Eddie Schartman's 7.86/184 in his newly-blown Comet. He ran it at Beeline Dragway for the Western US Super Stock Championships in early December. It was a sixteen-car field, and he advanced in the opening round when Charlie Allen had his steering fail. In round two, he lost to eventual winner, "Dyno Don" Nicholson. Dick Harrell Chevrolet. We formerly listed 7.90/184.04 and 182.92 at the OCIR Mfg. Meet. We need to confirm the 7.90 and 184.80 speed. |

Notes: Roy won the NHRA Division 4 race at Southland Dragway on May 24. Opponent Jake Johnston fouled away a 7.57 in the final and Gay's 7.97 got the victory. Only ten funny cars showed up at Dallas for the NHRA World Finals on October 15. Roy qualified #8 with a 7.41. In the opening round, he fouled away a 7.43 against eventual winner Gene Snow's 7.14/185. |

Notes: Geisler qualified #1 with a 6.30 at OCIR on June 10 for its Funny Car Spectacular race. Unfortunately, he hurt the engine and was unable to run in eliminations. The following week (June 18), he was at Sacramento for the third NHRA Division 7 race. Only six FCs showed, and his 6.48/227.28 qualified #3. His 6.61 defeated Ron Williams in the opening round, but in the semifinal, a 6.58/217.91 lost to eventual winner Dave Hough's 6.33/223. Early in July, Geisler was at Bonneville Raceway for the fourth NHRA Division 7 race. His 6.93/202.71 in the opening round lost to Gary Densham's 6.82/187. Dennis ran well at Sacramento in October for the Governor's Cup Championships. It was an eight-car show, and he beat Tommy Ivo in the first round. His 6.94 in the semifinals beat Bob Pickett, who got out of shape and shut off. In the final, he faced Tom McEwen, who had run 6.15 in his semifinal race. Tom slowed to 6.45 in the final, and Dennis picked up to 6.29 for the win. He qualified 14th at the NHRA Fallnationals (times unavailable) but did not show for the first round. | 6.42 qualifier at the March Meet - ND. Notes: This was the former John Lombardo machine. The 6.15/227 times seem very quick. They did not occur at an NHRA national event. We need confirmation. Dennis failed to qualify at Ontario Motor Speedway for the NHRA World Finals (times unavailable but slower than 6.56). That was Dennis's only NHRA national event this year. |

Notes: Dennis ran well at Pomona for the NHRA Winternationals. He qualified #10 with a 6.085/238.72. Unfortunately, he had problems in the first round and slowed to a 7.568/115.23 that lost to Billy Meyer's 6.38/240. He was at the Bakersfield March Meet, where his 6.18/235.60 qualified #4 in the eight-car field. He lost to Tom McEwen in the first round. Dennis was the fifth alternate at the NHRA World Finals at OCIR at 6.237/235.60. The car later ran just under the Geisler's Glass Co. name. | The '82 Finals was Geisler's last go. ND '83 March Meet pit coverage showed Geisler helping out Grose. - Joe Moore |

Notes: Don Cook moved to Missouri in 1971. Was the car still based out of California? | per Dennis Doubleday, Cook sold the car to Ron O’Donnell in 1972, and O’Donnell then sold it to Myrna Gelfand in 1973. Gelfand hired Wayne Greiser to drive the car. Later in 1973 the car went to Australia. Gelfand then sold the name/operation to O’Donnell, who campaigned it after that. |
