Notes: A-modified roadsters commonly ran against fuel dragsters in Top Eliminator.; After successful outings at the Bonneville Salt Flats, Waters put some slicks on the roadster and did a gear change to run at a few drag races. On Nov. 9 at Riverside, he lost to Lyle Fisher in the Speed Sport roadster in A/MR class, turning 9.91 at 157.89 mph in the losing effort. The following week, the team went to Kingdon to see if they could beat Ernie Hashim's 165.44 mph track record. They made six runs but didn't come close.
