Howdy,
Full disclosure: I am not a drag racer, I am not a drag enthusiast although that might change in the future. About the only thing I do related to cars is try to maintain and fix my family's vehicles when needed. I joined this forum to enable me to post a response to the post that commemorates the late Tom Baum, a guy with whom I share the same name and who actually was a hard core drag owner/racer. Stay tuned for the post.

My background: I am an engineer/consultant/entrepreneur. Married with two college age kids. Grew up on Long Island, NY and moved to Texas in 1981 to work for Texas Instruments as an Integrated Circuit engineer. Moved to Austin, Texas in 1998. Started my own tech business in 2005. Founded a non-profit in 2008 to reverse homelessness using mobile, live-streaming social media. Am now engaged in research and development related to the sciences of butterfly attraction and modeling the perfect golf swing.

Hi y'all,
Just joined, not so much for the cars as to find a friend (separate post)
I did have a couple pretty cool fast cars, but when I was a lot younger, but motorcycles pretty much stole me away.
Had a Bugeye Sprite that we threw a 327 and a Powerglide in.
Had to lift the body off to change plugs or oil etc...
Fast little thing that I had to peer around the carbs on over the hood...

Anyway, thanks, and see ya around.

Hi everyone,
I'm pleased to be part of the DragList family. I'm new to the drag racing scene as i've just bought a 74 Vega 355 with TH400 and 12 bolt rear, used to be called "Mouse on the Loose" in 80's Texas according to the previous owner.
We're anxiously waiting for our main dragstrip (Santa Pod) here in England to be resurfaced, hopefully completed by March, then I can try out the Vega.
Cheers,
Lofty.
