Draglist.com is the number one (non-paid) search result on Google.com for the search 'drag racing.'
If you've watched the news lately, you may have seen that Google has revised their search engine rating system to fix a problem where people were inserting bogus keywords into web pages in attempt to get top rankings. Google put in a new scheme to combat this and as a result, our little website went from about number five or six in the rankings to number one!
For you Internet old timers, there was a period of time where Draglist.com had an absolute lock on the top spot for 'drag racing' in Google.com. It was a combination of our having great content and a little bit of my figuring out how to optimize the page (honestly) for the best search engine results.
Eventually, several other top pages came in and overtook us, and it was hard to argue with amazing pages like NHRA.com, the Wikipedia page on drag racing, our partner site DragTimes.com, and even RuPaul's Drag Race TV show!
But that was all before the latest round of Google adjustments to their ranking scheme.
For the past few days and for I don't know how much longer, Draglist.com has regained its spot at the top of the Google results for 'drag racing' -- something that I frankly never thought I would see again. bp
