Yes! He did another great burnout, followed by a 4.98 at 140 on the eighth... The Whooppee car when hit the wall at the top end. Frank is OK. Dale Broderick ran a 5.69, 119 in his Fiat. And then Troy Ray in the funny car with the shutoff as he blew of the tires at the hit. We are down hard now for track drying and things are not expected to start again until 5pm. bp

Paltry. Far outnumbered by the racers and crews (and we few insiders). In fact, we were commenting that there likely were more crew members on the starting line in the funny car final than spectators in the stands to observe it. Seriously cold and overcast and I'm sure that held many away. Unfortunately, several folks told me that informal surveys of local businesses (five miles away and closer) indicated no knowledge whatsoever of the event. We are having fun. But the financials can't be good. bp
Understand much lower racer turnout than last year, race details were somewhat difficult to come by right up until race time and very little "buzz" or publicity.
I think it's very difficult to "promote" a race when the promotors/organizers don't have even limited control of the purse strings/budget and the track mgmt that does write the checks has little interest in the event.
Not a match made in heaven.
Congrats to all that did make the race and support Nostalgia racing in the region and congrats to Matt & Rick Stambaugh on the Funny car win and Rocky P.on the runner up.I was at the shop Friday afternoon and Surf told me no test & tune for him, he was going down to get the check:)

Hi. Home safe and sound.

Tim said that he saw the Whooppee Car and it did not seem to be too bad. Frank got sideways at half track due to the water seeping up. bp
