Mornin'. 34°f and windy. I'm hoping to get a directory sign lettered for a new business today, but that'll depend on how the wind blows.

Jack the Broadway project is all but shut down for the winter. Spring is right around the corner though.
The only activity is a 2 - 3 man crew working on the LED street lights. Burying lines and pouring concrete bases.

I finished work stuff early today. It was very nice out, 50's and sunny, so I got this idea. Last summer I bought a set of new mulching blades for the mower, but failed at breaking the nuts loose, so I gave up. The factory blades are for a bagger, they don't dice up the clippings very well so they tend to kill the grass. I don't always have enough ambition to pull the sweeper around the yard every time, and sometimes the grass gets a little tall if I'm busy. Since I took the deck off to install the snow blower (that I probably won't even get a chance to use this season, can't blow rain) I gave it another try today. I was able to get a much better grip on the breaker bar with the deck standing on end and they popped loose. So, even though I ran out of light, I pressure washed the deck so it'll be dry tomorrow, as it was sill well above freezing @ 7:30p. Tomorrow I'll beat on it with a hammer a little, weld on it a little, give it a rattle can paint job and a new set of belts. Maybe and little rust converter paint & some non stick graphite or teflon top coat for the bottom side to keep grass from sticking. Install the nice new bright yellow mulching blades. Then throw it back in the storage shed until the grass starts to grow.

Howdy, everyone! A whirlwind of activity over the past day and a half. My conference in Florida was canceled due to the coronavirus scare, so I got a partial refund of my plane ticket and I'm staying home. I went and read to the kids at Denise's school today for national reading day. It was fun. I was going to use the weekend to ramp up for Florida. I'll probably just rest up and do a little work. bp

Mornin'. Bright sunny skies with a 28°f start. Finish up the mower deck today & then clean up all the drop offs from the metal shear out in the shop.
Cheryl plans to handle the driving duties later today, as we go to see the Kids/Grandkids. She also unofficially retired her cane.

Cheryl is excited. She keeps knocking down those obstacles.

This is about as close to hot rod fabricating as I get these days. Installed the new mulching blades and blocked the discharge with a scrap piece of .080 aluminum. I figured as long as I've gone this far I might as well do a little more. The ol' mover has been neglected and abused over the years, so I went on Amazon and picked up a few things. Along with the deck upgrades and new belts. I found a new air filter, new spark plugs, fuel filter, oil filter and oil, even found a choke cable so I won't have to open the hood and pull on the broken end of the old cable to start it now. In the 50's again today, I'm getting anxious for Spring.

Mornin' 40°f and sunny. Cheryl didn't drive last night, she felt a little jittery. She tried and succeeded at making the bed yesterday, but that took it out of her. Maybe a fresh start this morning she'll have the extra go power.

You are a true artisan, Gary, no matter what you tackle.

Glad to hear that Cheryl is not pushing it. A little progress each day... bp

aw, thanks BP. 51°f followed by a thunderstorm and 35 MPG winds, lightning and what the weather station called extremely heavy rain.
