Biil Jeunette passed Thursday of cancer.
Bill was a former race official, long time track manager of both Old Dominion Speedway and Capital Raceway
in the greater Wash DC area and a member of the East Coast Drag Times Hall of Fame.
Bill was retired as Safety Officer for Arlington County Va and active in civic events in the region especially those involving youth.
A class act and a gentleman,Bill will be greatly missed.
My condolences to those he leaves behind.
RIP

Thanks for the info on Bill, RH. Rest in peace, Mr. Jeunette and thanks for maintaining such a high standard of integrity in your division and for Old Domnion. I learned about Old Dominion from Ron and it was men like you who kept it together and at the top of the list of historical drag strips. I hope your dedication will continue with the next generation. Bill Jeunette was the driving force in the construction of the dragstrip at Old Dominion Speedway in Manassas, VA in 1953. Bill convinced track owner Al Gore that Northern VA needed at place to get street racers off the street and onto an organized drag racing facility. Bill came back to Al Gore a second time in the mid sixties to convince Mr. Gore again that the local police departments needed a place to do driver training for its officers. This was the birth of the Northern VA Criminal Justice Dept. driver training facility.
