Hi, Nancy! Just read your post! Looking forward to hearing more about the P/M car! Congrats on the auto/performance acquisition, too! The band's real busy. That's a good thing for a big band (8 pieces). I was moved over to keyboards but I'm temporarily subbing for the guitar player while he finishes up some committments. Here's the link to our website. Great to hear from you again! WC1

I walk the dog around the same 1/3 mile block several times a day. On the route there is a 4 way stop intersection. I see 10 cars a week blow through it at 10 mph or more.
I agree, you just can't fix stupid.
The town cops always make a complete stop.

Thanks, Zap! I was fixing up a Hemi-powered FC version of George in Photoshop, so I went looking for a suitable chassis online (preferably a Pleuger). I somehow ended up at the site linked to this post below...some very, very creative and radical ideas being brought to life by a bunch of truly sick individuals...enjoy! WC1

I've been working on this for a while but I think I'm going to draw a version before I say it's not possible...Cheers, WC1

John, I've never had one myself, so I'm just asking here. Are the carbs the problem or just the filters? Could a refab be done under the hood, on a air duct/filter to make it work ? Perhaps one larger filter with 2 outlets to the carbs, any room for that? Just a thought, to save the outside appearance.

That's a great idea, Mr. Jean. I've seen carb configurations where they use intakes that look like miniature injector stacks, with the intakes closest to the deck lid being partially indented to provide clearance. That's on racing engines where they have dual carbs on both sides. Single carbs on both sides, yes, it's the filter stacks that probably cause the space problem...The "collector filter" concept could be applied in the stock position to fit inside a bug lid, you're right. I haven't seen that yet!

The BIG race engines (Pauter Machine engines, Ruff & Tuff, etc.) with big displacements

use varying styles to accommodate these deals. Sometimes they do away with the deck lid altogether and leave the engine exposed, sometimes they fab a cover, it goes in a lot of directions.

I like the engine to be covered with a stock-appearing deck lid without an offset position, but that red bug with the iron cross on the door has a pretty cool engine cover to my eyes. Thanks, WC1
