Chris Demke and The Peen Rite Team Ready for 2011 Racing

Sun Valley, Ca. -- Repeating a successful drag racing season is a tough act for any team. Following the success of 2010, the main goal for Chris Demke and The Peen Rite Top Alcohol Dragster Racing Team is to not only repeat, but also take an incredible journey towards earning the #1 Lucas Oil National Championship Title.

Demke’s team, led by Jerry Maddern, has established themselves as a major player within the NHRA Full Throttle and Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Alcohol Class. Their accomplishments from last year include #2 Nationally, 8 Number 1 qualifying positions, 6 wins (3 National and 3 Divisional) and clocking an elapse time and speed of 5.256 at 273.55 miles per hour during the 2010 racing season.

“2010 was a great year for us” noted Demke, “we are all ready to get off of our winter break and start racing again. We were so close to winning the Championship last year, that we’re hungrier than ever.

“It’s always exciting to start fresh at the beginning of the year. Our strategy isn’t any different than 2010, only that everyone starts out even in the points chase.”

Maddern Racing would like to give special recognition to all of their marketing partners and suppliers who have been instrumental towards the Team’s winning efforts: Peen Rite, CleanBoost Oil, B-G Detection, LA X-Ray, AFCO, Victory 1 Performance, Motorsports Unlimited, A-1 Technologies, Clevite, BAE, Lenco, Chrisman, Taylor Safety Products, Lamb Components, Hoosier, NGK and Simpson Racing Products.

Chris Demke Looking to Defend 2010 Winternationals Championship

Pomona, Ca. -- The Top Alcohol Dragster Team of Maddern Racing with Chris Demke behind the wheel is ready for their first ever National Event Repeat Victory. The 2010 Winternationals Top Alcohol Dragster Champion team is based in Sun Valley, California and is looking forward to competing at their home track where family and friends can attend.

The 2011 Season started out on a high note for Demke’s Team. They powered their way to yet another #1 qualifying position leading into last weeks Division 7 2011 kick off race in Phoenix, Arizona. The team ran a very respectable 5.286 at 271.95 miles per hour.

‘We suffered a fuel pump malfunction after Monday’s rained out rescheduled qualifier in Phoenix last week” noted Demke, “that forced us to change engines before eliminations. We were under a significant time restraint and not able to warm up the car prior to going to the staging lanes.

“Unfortunately, we had a fuel leak that was inadvertently missed and forced us to abort the run”.

That was then and this is now. The Peen Rite - Clean Boost Oil Sponsored Team is more than ready to defend their 2010 Championship in Pomona this weekend at the 51st Annual running of the Kragen-O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Full Throttle Winternationals.

Qualifying at the The Kragen-O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Winternationals for the Top Alcohol Class begins on Thursday, February 24th, 2011 at 11:30 A.M. and continues on Friday at 11:30 and 2:30. 1st Round of Eliminations are scheduled for Saturday at 12:45 with Final Eliminations slated to begin at 11:00 A.M on Sunday.

Schedule is subject to change.

All I can say is what a great group of guys (and Dixie of Course) They've worked very hard and have earned all the partners they can get. Congrats to them!!!

Hoosier Tires Partners with Maddern Racing

Sun Valley, Ca. -- Chris Demke and Maddern Racing have reached an agreement and are joining forces with Hoosier Tires during the 2011 Racing Season. Hoosier’s are the racing tire “Designed for Champions.”

“We are very excited about this new opportunity” notes Demke, “we’ve been running Hoosier Tires for many seasons, and for them to choose us to partner with is quite an honor, to say the least.

“We really like that fact that these tires are manufactured in the United States. Their compound, along with our engine combination, continues to help us run consistently every time we are at the track.

“On behalf of our Clean Boost / Peen Rite Maddern Racing Team, we would like to thank Mr. Lubbers, Director of Racing at Hoosier Tires, along with everyone else at Hoosier, for believing in us to partner with.”

Chris Demke and Maddern Racing Contesting Gatornationals In Honor Of Walt Rhoades

Gainesville, Fl. -- It was a last minute decision for Maddern Racing to travel over 3000 miles to contest this weekend’s 42nd annual running of the Tire Kingdom’s NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway in Florida. It was a unanimous decision.

This race marks a very special place in history for crew member, Adam Rhoades, where his father won his 1st National Event back in 1971 driving the Freight Train entry in Top Gas Eliminator.

“We have never ran the Gatornationals” said Demke, “when Adam mentioned to us how cool it would be to go in honor of his dad, we all agreed that it should and would be done.

“We have a good, consistent car and a brand new partnership with Hoosier Tires, so we are hoping to celebrate a win in honor of Walt’s accomplishments from 40 years ago.”

Qualifying for the Tire King NHRA Gatornationals for the Top Alcohol Class begins Friday, March 11th, 2011 with two qualifying attempts at 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Qualifying continues on Saturday, March 12th at 10:00 AM with first round of eliminations at 3:45 PM. Final eliminations beging on Sunday, March 13th at 11:00 AM.
