Chris Demke and Maddern Racing Dedicates Gatornational Victory to Walt Rhoades

Gainesville, Fl. -- With weather conditions as good as 1200 feet below sea level in the morning hours at Florida’s premier racing facility, Gainesville Raceway, the timing couldn’t have been better for all the teams in attendance.

The Peen Rite / Clean Boost Top Alcohol Dragster of Chris Demke and Jerry Maddern was in fact one of the benefactors of those conditions.

With an oversized DMPE MKII injector hat mounted on the dragster for first round of qualifying, Demke led his team to a 5.255 elaspse time that held up through three sessions into first round of eliminations.

“The Gorilla Injector hat received a lot of attention” lamented Demke, “unfortunately, for the second and third qualifier, the dragster pulled the front end and I had to abort both runs.

“Since we were there in honor of Adam’s dad, Walt, we wanted to go back to basics with what we knew and put the original injector back on for eliminations. In the second and third rounds of eliminations, at a race where every round was so tough, we still ran in the mid 5.30’s even though the dragster was shaking and I was having to pedal the throttle each time.

“Prior to the final round, Adam Rhoades made a key tuning correction and the car went straight down the groove for the win. When we were handed the trophy, it was just amazing that we accomplished what we set out to do and that was to dedicate this race with a Win to Adam’s father, Walt Rhoades.”

The Peen Rite / Clean Boost Maddern Racing Top Alcohol Dragster’s next race will be contested in Las Vegas, Nevada at the 12th Annual SummitRacing.com Full Throttle NHRA National Event, April 1 - 3, 2011.

Chris Demke and Maddern Racing Prepared for Double Header Rolling Into Vegas

Las Vegas, Nv -- As the Pacific Division 7 Lucas Oil Racing Series Events is entering into their second race of the 2011 Racing Season, this is the fourth event of the year for Chris Demke and the Maddern Racing Top Alcohol Dragster.

With a National Event Win already in hand, the Peen Rite/Clean Boost Team knows the season has only just begun. This season will prove to be their most aggressive racing season to date in hopes of winning the National Championship.

“When we arrived home from Gainesville with a Wally” noted Demke, “we couldn’t wait to see our friends and family. We all gathered at a local restaurant, the Steel Pit, for a big celebration when the ESPN TV coverage came on. It was a really special event for us to share with everyone.

“Now, it’s time to focus and get back to racing business. I really have to give a lot of credit to Jerry Maddern” noted Demke, “like so many other teams, we all have regular jobs to help support our families. Jerry has spent countless hours servicing the dragster since we got home from Florida.

“We are ready to continue our momentum from Gainesville and are looking for not only those valuable points, but also hoping to add to our trophy case.”

Qualifying for the Top Alcohol Class begins on Friday, March 25th at 3:00 PM and continues on Saturday, March 26th at Noon and 4:00 PM. Final Eliminations will begin on Sunday, March 27th at Noon.

Chris Demke and Maddern Racing’s Consistency Earns Back to Back Wins

Fallon, Nv -- The Peen Rite / Clean Boost Performance Oil Team is counting the stars that are falling upon them as they won back to back races within the Division 7 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. This win marks their third of the 2011 racing season.

At this event, the Maddern Racing Top Alcohol Dragster team not only reset the track elapse time record at 5.519 and mile per hour records at 258.57, they also began Sunday’s eliminations from the #1 qualifying position.

“We’re really happy that we won the event at Top Gun and moved into second place Nationally” noted Demke, “but at the same time, we would have loved to have had a full field instead of just one round of competition.

“Cody (Perkins) and The 801 Racing Team did a great job tuning on their dragster to go from A to B on Sunday. Luckily for us, it was just our day to take home the Wally”.

The Peen Rite / Clean Boost Performance Oil Team’s next race is July 7 - 10, 2011 at the NHRA Full Throttle O’Reilly Auto Parts Route 66 Nationals. This race marks the only Nationally held event that incorporates a race within a race for the prestigious 2011 Jegs All Stars Title.

Division 7 Jegs Allstars Representative Chris Demke and Maddern Racing Head to the Windy City’s Chicagoland Raceway

Joliet, Ill. -- This weekend marks one of the biggest races of the year for all NHRA Sportsman competitor’s that compete regional within the Jeg’s All Stars Title Competition. This race is an honor for all of the racer’s as they represent their respective divisions through out the country.

This is one of the few weekends where you combine names like Bill Reichert, Randy Meyer, Marty Thacker, Jim Whitely, Duane Shields, John Finke, Mike Manners and Chris Demke (to name a few) all vying for this coveted championship battle. This combines not only division versus division, but the biggest race within a race in the NHRA Drag Racing Series.

“We are pumped up for this race” noted Demke, “the best of the best are here in Chicago and we don’t always get to race against each other. Very few people have ever doubled up at this event, and we sure would like to add our name to that very small list.

“We would like to send a special Thank You to the Jeg’s organization for keeping this program going year after year. It’s not only fun for all of us, but it’s a long year worth of dedication and hard work to be a Divisional Representative for each and every class that will compete this weekend.

“We have won back to back events, but we’re all on an even playing field this weekend and it’s business like usual, one pass at a time.”

The Maddern Top Alcohol Racing Team goes into this event in fourth place within the Lucas Oil National Points Championship Series and has 4 final round appearances in 2011.

Qualifying for the 14th Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Route 66 Nationals for the Top Alcohol Class begins Friday, July 8th, 2011 with two qualifying attempts at 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM. Chris Demke and Maddern Racing Begin Three Race “Northern Swing” in Seattle

Kent, Wa. -- As the Peen Rite/Clean Boost Top Alcohol Dragster Team makes their way north for their first of three races on a Northern Mini Tour, they hold close in their hearts the memory of last years Northwest Nationals in Kent, Washington.

As the winners of that event from 2010, which to this day remains secondary, this is also the one year anniversary of fellow competitor Mark Niver’s untimely “perfect storm” fatality. The two teams were to compete against one another in the final round.

“This race has a lot of history for us from only one short year ago” noted Demke, “in Mark’s honor, we hope we can win back to back events.

“We’re running very consistent right now and the weather is supposed to be good. It’s unfortunate that there’s a low car count for the dragsters at this event, neither here nor there, we’re aiming towards valuable points for the National Championship.”

The Maddern Top Alcohol Racing Team goes into this event in fourth place within the Lucas Oil National Points Championship Series.

Upon completion of the Northwest Nationals, The Peen Rite Team will head to Brainerd, Minnesota and finish up their Northern Swing at the US Nationals in Indianapolis.

Qualifying for the 24th Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Northwest Nationals for the Top Alcohol Class begins Friday, August 5th, 2011 with two qualifying attempts at 12:30 AM and 3:30 PM. Qualifying continues on Saturday, August 6th at 12:30 PM with first round of eliminations slated for 3:30 PM. Final Eliminations begin on Sunday, August 7th at 11:00 AM.

Quarter Final Finish in Brainerd for Maddern Racing

Brainerd, Mn. -- A good old drag race best describes the early exit for Chris Demke and the Peen Rite / Clean Boost Maddern Racing Top Alcohol Dragster Team in Brainerd last weekend. The team started eliminations from the #3 qualifying position.

“First round of qualifying didn’t go as good as we had hoped” noted Demke, “we dropped a valve and only ran a 6.18.

“The next two qualifiers, we ran two solid back to back 5.20 passes (5.29 and 5.27) so we were ready for eliminations. We ran another 5.20 pass in first round and our day ended in round two when we ran a 5.38 against the YNOT Team of Jim Whitely.

“We congratulate Jim, Norm and everyone for their eventual win at Brainerd”.

The Maddern Racing Top Alcohol Dragster Team will next be racing at the 57th Annual running of the Mac Tools US Nationals presented by Lucas Oil in Indianapolis, Indiana, August 31st to September 5, 2011.
