The B&W picture of Veney racing Roundpoints Firebird is bit ironic as the Firebird was formerly Veney's, raced the year prior and dubbed the Dirty Bird. I cant recall who owned it before Veney. Either Charlie Wilson or Jess Tyree. I am searching through Drag Newd CD's as time permits in order to find a shot of Mr Kim car being run by its second owner. I am confident that its there.

I meant Mineo and not Tyree as Tyree's featured that funky rectangular style chassis. Also, Tyree's ended up in Florida. What hinders me from making a complete commitment to the car once belonging to Mineo are the body dimensions. Take a look at the Mineo version and you will notice that the body has features that are not of the same lines and proportions as the one featured in the photo. Mineo's had wheel well archs that had less of an arc and the car was bit narrower and longer. Splitting hairs I know, but hey that what this hard core forum is for. Also, Mineo,s roof was chopped a bit more. But I could be off as so often before

Will your dad be competing in the upcoming NAHA sanctioned pro-hill climb event scheduled at Glen Helen sometime in April?

If I can attend I will advise. 490 Maico! I have three buddies in possession of one these beasts, along with a gaggle of 250's. They were great bikes with incredible handling, torquey, yet powerful motors, albiet they were fragile, hence the name "Maico-Brako". I was always a CZ man myself having owned a few 250's over the years
