The purpose of using a set back intake manifold is to help balance out the charge to each cylinder, yes it helps.
Now depending on your current intake ( openings, runners, and spacing ) moving the blower back on this intake itself may have no actual gains, and you will probly wind up needing a spacer plate to cover up any exposed opening at the front of your intake.
You would need a specific intake that was designed as, and for use as a set back,..Yes there are gains with this type of intake.
