does anyone know what hardblok is made of?

i've heard rumors that it's just repackaged grout, does anyone here know for sure? i'd hate to pay 75 bucks for 11 dollars worth of grout if that's the case.

I heard it was a mixture of hydraulic cement and grout with some sort of resin as a binder .all I know the stuff is better than plaster of paris or fibreglass resin( we used the resin and it would soften from the heat of the engine and flow in the passages and the plaster would disintegrate from the hot water )

A good friend of mine owns HardBlok..It's a pretty high tech, lab/field tested product.
We used a ton in our day.
good stuff..worth the $$'s.

Take a tip from a retired Boiler Operator - use refractory cement. It'll stand a lot more heat than an automobile engine will produce and cure high pressure water leaks too. Over the years I've dragged home a good many bags of it for local racers. Just don't mix it too thin and make sure you vibrate the block with a palm sander or air chisel when you're pouring it.
