Yo Gary.....Would the IHRA tech guy allow two bars back towards the other tranny crossmember .....welded to the crossmember but bolted in where they need to be (like the crossmember is removable)?????...would require 4 bolts to take the bars out...but just might satisfy the situation ...(or is y'alls solution better??)

I've got to put it right in front of the tranny pan. Then add a brace back to the foot brace. I can make it removable on a 25.4 chassis. Faster than 7.50 I'd be outta' luck (It'd have to be permenent). But, then again with a mild steel chassis, faster than 7.50 I'd be in trouble anyway.
Anything back by the rear crossmember wouldn't fit cuz' that crossmember is about 1 1/2" behind the tranny pan. I looked at puttin' it under the tranny pan and that's tooooooo loooooow. In front of the pan gives me a smiggion of extra clearance, but is still slightly lower than the tranny pan, and just a 1/2 smiggion lower than the mid plate. . That might be a good thing to keep the pan from gettin' dinged. It'll be about 3"+ off the ground. If tech says I need it, I'll put it in and do what I can to tuck it up under the tranny as far as possible.

I have the ho-hummmm task of assemblin' const. signs today, so my mind is wanderin'......I wuz' jus' thinkin'.......
Question for converter people:
When a converter is called a ...... let's say 9" converter .... does that refer to the dia. of the exterior of the unit or is that an internal measurment? Just wondering how much room I'd have for the crossmember or if I should just play it conservative and use the dust cover as a guide. I just thought if I'm not running a cover i may be able to get the crossmember a wee bit higher? This crossmember is gonna' be the low point on the car is why I'm concerned about gaining a little height if possible.

Seats came today. No covers,:x but I guess I don't need them yet anyway. I set the mountin' holes up for the Tenzo seats, so I'll have to do a little adjustin'.

I didn't notice it before, but yours are a little different from the ones I have. You have extra wings on the sides. I don't know if my rib cage could handle those too good. Interesting.
