Good eye, ProZ...Wheelz, headers, blower, I thought Rapid was selling it so I borrowed 'em for this event, maybe get some nibbles...but it turns out the engine wasn't for sale! I will return it soon...those nitro coupes sure do have a mind of their own, don't they...you gotta hold on tight at the hit...the only other modification to the truck other than Bob Vandergriff's front wing and Scott Weis' rear wing was the 4 1/2" chop after cutting a small rectangular opening on the side for the headers to come through. The paint is just about the same color as Rapid's Fiat, so I sampled some of it whilst removing the rope holding the hood down. The background is reversed from a picture of Tommy Johnson, Jr. hitting a launch at Vegas back in January. Cheers, WC1
PS: FHB, you did good getting your favorite old truck back. I had a chance to get my old VW back once and I passed on the opportunity...I've been kicking myself ever since. Cat

Just saw your post, FHB, I'll check and see what size the file has to be, then I'll email the file to ya. Put it on your desktop or in a folder on your hard drive then go into profile and it'll ask you about your avatar, etc, then you say I have my own pic, then you click the thingie that takes you to the browser and you locate the file and put it in, clear as mud...Cheers, WC1

I tried to find my ol' '66 GTO back when. When I sold it, it still had a numbers matching drive train (Well, less the rear end). Somebody painted it white I was told. Shoulda' just put that one away and held onto it. Those things bring the big bux these days.

thanks cat, i'll use that on more than one forum, i know what you're talking about on missing out on a deal, we went to get this truck, and it was gone!!! a guy had came and picked it up and was supposed to pay for it monday, he had told us he'd hold it till the end of the weekend, so we raised hell with him untill he finally caved in, and we drove 60 miles and loaded it on the trailer in the other guys front yard in the rain.that old truck was a complete heap when i first bought it in 99, i fixed it up and traded it back to the guy i got it from for a fire damaged mobile home and 10 acres of pretty good land that i later sold when i got into a financial bind, now i have it back. 8) 8) :D :D

there's nothing like a turbocharged chevelle!!!! unfortunatley i won't have one this year, the new track owner seems to interperet the rules a little differently than the old one did, so now due to not having the stock trunk pan my car is not legal for 10.5L  so i just broke out my old grand prix (having 23 cars has it's advantages at times) and transplanted all the turbo stuff from the chevelle into it, and since we're starting a new true radial class, i'm going to try to get somewhere around 1000hp to get me down the track on a real (not drag radial) 275/60/15  some of the engine parts have been showing up, i'm actually down to just needing the crankshaft now, machine work and that monster will live 8) here are some pics

the grand prix, outrunning people with family cars is fun!!!

did i forget to mention patches the suicidal race engine? i bought this engine to have some fun with untill i get the new one done, with boost it should make 5-600 rwhp, and yes that's me taking the heater box out in the background, and you gotta love the camo block

here is one of patches this afternoon, looks pretty good in there don't she?

well, it looks like a flat hood is out of the question

i'm hoping to get to the track with it this coming saturday, i'll post times as soon as i get back, also i need to come through here more, i had to read three pages to get caught up on rapids thread , sheesh, i wish i wasn't so busy sometimes.
