Nancy Matter Race Ready for Dallas

After returning home from a five race outing that provided data from all different types of climate and track conditions, TheMusic.com/The Who Top Alcohol Funny Car Team of Nancy Matter is ready to compete at the 22nd Annual NHRA O'Reilly Fall Nationals at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis this weekend.

"We're really looking forward to going to the Texas Motorplex this weekend" notes Matter. "We have finally found a National Event baseline tune up during the last three events, so we're looking to pick up where we left off from Indy".

"We also have so many people driving up from Austin this weekend to support us this weekend including Malcolm Harper who is the President of the National Association of the Recording Arts and Sciences, Texas Chapter, (NARAS - aka Grammy Association)".

Matter's Camaro Funny Car will have a slightly different look as well this weekend. The team will be carrying the 50th Annual Grammy Award Logo on the front of the car. The Grammy's take place in Los Angeles on February 10th, 2008 on CBS and will be celebrating it's Golden Anniversary during the Winternationals.

Additionally, Matter will have several of her music awards with her this weekend. She is being interviewed by ESPN2 on Friday morning to share her career away from the track, at the track, in a segment for the Lucas Oil Sportsman Series called "Personality Profiles" to air at a later date. The awards will be on display for photos when the team is not servicing or preparing to run.

Nancy would like to thank Tom Conway for his continued support and her crew: Jeremy Mitchell, Chris Collins, Eugene Rowson and Ryan Matter.

The 20th National Event of 23 within the NHRA Powerade Series kicks off on Friday, September 21st with two rounds of qualifying at 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. for the Alcohol Class. Long weekend, but we ran our best so far at 4000 ft 130 track temp and 95 degree temp.

It's always a good weekend when you learn, don't break and get a little faster. Our turn is coming.

Also, was interviewed on ESPN2 will air 9/30 on the sportsman coverage of Dallas at 12:00 to 1:00 pm ET.
