Brotherhood standards

Postby racersforcoffee » Wed Mar 07, 2007 9:33 am

....I tend to post this around once a year...I am looking for a copy of the written doc that Big Willie put out sometime in the early '70's outlining the simple guidelines for conduct within the Brotherhood of Street Racers. This was publicized about the time the first Terminal Is. strip was on the drawing boards...and still seems like the best "10 simple rules" I ever ran across for racers 8)

Good luck. I'd like to see and print that for posterity. bp

If and when I do, I absolutely will forward for a feature article. It has always encapsuled values of conduct and community that mean much to me 8)

O man. Terminal Island was wonderful!! The most wonderful people in the world, and Big Willie couldn't have been any nicer if he tried! I'll ask my pops about this, for he was racing there back then, I believe. No promises though!!

We were at the Socal Shootout racing and a man said hr had a copy of what you want. He seemed to know what he was talking about, had pictures of the funeral for BW and said he would look up this article and hook up with you. good luck

Thank you VERY MUCH :D I appreciate the gestures and efforts no matter how this turns out. The only thing I could hope for beyond this is for some form of the Brotherhood to be out there in the 21st cent. doing the same mission Big Willie fomented. 8)

Big Willie will be at LACR on Sat. 7/28/07 around 6pm till well past midnight for the last Street Racer Event, one day before LACR closes for good. There should be a good turn out of over several hundred people. ABC NEWS, Fox 11 NEWS and Hot Rod Magazine will be there also along with other media. Big Willie will be a guest announcer for the evening.

Friends,

Since my orig. post last March, several significant events have occured...the passing of Tomiko Robinson and two more So. Cal dragstrips being among the most difficult to take...
On the upside, we have never been closer to having another South Bay strip by and for the people; Willie stands determined to keep the Brotherhood program alive..as do I.
Any magazine interviews with Big Willie Robinson would be helpful in codifying the common sense guidelines the Brotherhood attempted to broadcast to North America. Any scans would be appreciated...
