Remembering Oswego Dragstrip June 6th 2009

Postby BlacktopBaron » Mon Mar 02, 2009 9:03 pm

So this is a show within a show. We will have a area dedicated to Remembering Oswego Dragstrip. We have a bunch of old drag cars lined up and will also have ,Memorabilia and film footage on display. If you have a Old rail, gasser, alterd etc... please contact me as we would love to have it be part of this section. Its only a few miles from the old strip in Yorkville Illinois. This will all be a part of the Blacktop Barons Road Block car show.

Thanks, Marvin. Those attending will once again enjoy Marvin Noel's mellow and instructive voice soaring out from the PA system. bp

Nostalgia Wars at Quaker City Raceway in Ohio

Postby greenracing » Wed Mar 18, 2009 8:46 am

Quaker City Raceway in Salem, Ohio is having a monthly nostalgia race series in 2009. It's the first Saturday of each month with a few exceptions.

Some rules that may make it interesting:
- 1965 and older
- No electronics
- No trans brake
- 2 time trials, your dial for all eliminations is set to your fastest time trial
- Breakout for eliminations is set to .10 below your dial. (you can run up to a 1/10 faster than your dial)
- Flat-out to the stripe - they will have spotters watching for finish-line games
- They haven't decided yet, but they might turn off the clocks and not hand out timeslips during eliminations.

Dates:
May 2
June 13
July 4
Aug 1
Sept 5
Oct 3
Oct 17 - year end Monster Mash Bash
