Maritime Drag Racing

This evening at Cape Breton Draqway's first Test and Tune session of the year marked this old fogey's return to drag racing after an absence of 29 years and now after 16 passes I've come to the conclusion that the car is deadly but the driver is rusty.

I did much better when deep staged but it was only the last few passes that I started to find my spot on the tree and got three decent lights in the .550 - .560 range. Before that most were red and not by a whole lot(.470-.480)

As for the Cavalier being "deadly" the quickest pass was 17.69 and the slowest was 17.80 and that's likely the difference between being deep and shallow staged. Had 6 passes at 17.77 then started getting a little quicker as the sun started to set.

All in all it was the most fun I've had in 29 years, 9 months and 21 days. Next Wednesday night is another Test and Tune session then my first Points Meet in 29 years, 9 months and 11 days on June 20-21. The only downside is my ass is sore from kicking myself for not doing this sooner LOL.

This is way too much fun - Maybe I should get serious about chasing those track points. Maybe Bret Kepner can give me some tips on winning with any daily driver. Nobody does it any better.

Later edit: Our track photographer just sent me this pic of my first pass since Sept 1979. He was set up at the 1000' mark.
